August 20, 2:01 am: Police observed a vehicle traveling on Maple Street burning rubber while turning on to Bowen Street. Officer Elliott stopped the vehicle and smelled alcohol coming from inside the vehicle. The driver relayed that he was driving on bald tires while driving home two passengers that he had picked up at Rumors. The driver was administered a field sobriety test, which he failed and tested positive for alcohol on a portable breathalyzer. He was issued citations for DUI, laying drag and improper tread on tires. Blood-Alcohol Tests were pending as of September 2nd.
August 20, 10:36 am: Police were called to respond to an unknown disturbance call. Sergeant Wilburn met with the victim upon arrival, who stated that she was involved in an altercation with the suspect. The victim had suffered a scratch on her left shoulder and a broken right pinky nail and complained of pain on her left cheek and right shoulder. The altercation reportedly started after a class the two had been in together, when they began talking for a few minutes. The suspect then slapped the victim and a fight ensued. The victim was taken to Health Services by police. The victim had previously filed a harassment complaint about the suspect.
August 21, 12:53 am: Officer Elliott of the UWG Police was performing a regular security check of Arbor View Apartments building B when he heard loud noises coming from one of the rooms. Upon contact with the people inside, Elliott smelled alcohol on the subjects and observed beer cans and a liquor bottle on the counter. After being granted permission to enter, Elliott checked the IDs of the subjects and asked those under 21 to consent to a portable breathalyzer. Two subjects tested positive for alcohol on the breath and were taken to the Carroll County Jail, then cited for Consumption Under Age.
August 22, 3:49 am: UWG Police were advised by Carrollton 911 of shots fired at the McDonalds on Maple Street and that a black male with dreadlocks was seen running up towards Gunn and Boykin Hall wearing a white t-shirt. Officers arrived on the scene and spotted three men matching the description near the entrance to Boykin. They were patted down and searched, but police found nothing. The men were able to provide information about the suspect's vehicle. One of the men had an outstanding warrant and was taken into custody.
August 23, 3:42 pm: Police responded to a motor vehicle accident at the intersection of South Street and West Georgia Drive. The driver of one of the vehicles was arrested for driving without a license and the other driver was cited for failure to yield.
