58 non-conspiratorial Muslims? Thats it? There were nearly 3000 people killed in the 9/11 attacks. 58 people only constitutes about 1.93% (give or take) of the total death toll of the attacks. "For that reason alone, how could it possibly be disrespectful to the victims of Sept. 11 by building an Islamic cultural center two blocks from Ground Zero, when those who are now being denied their property rights lost members of their own community in the attacks?"It is disrespectful to the other 98% of the victims. Muslims should be ashamed of the actions of their extremists and not press the issue to re-open the wound. They should be more understanding to why people don't a mosque built near where the Twin Towers stood.

I just love when writers act enlightened and treat the opposition to an idea as "ignorant". I'm pretty sure the majority of Amercia does not want a Mosque built anywhere near Ground zero. If these Muslims really cared about peace and love etc, I don't believe they would have wanted to build the Mosque there. The building of the structure was obviously intended to strike a nerve. I mean what did these muslims expect? It would be silly to think that everyone would be like "Of Course you can build a Mosques near the site of America's most recent homeland attack, even though it was the extremists of your religion that created and executed it." Personally, I don't want any religious structures built near ground zero, and I am a Christian. The area should be a neutral zone. Display a Memorial and Fly some American flags. Say whatever you want, but the "ignorant" people won't stand for it. The structure will only cause more violence and create more hurt. The violence will end up being directed at American Muslims and people associated with the Mosque. It will spark more intolerance and hate throughout America toward Muslims. It would just be a better idea, for the sake of peace, for the mosque not to be built.
SO ANYWAYS . . . . . . . No Mosques at Ground Zero!
