The Wolves took on Ouachita Baptist University in the second home game at University Stadium and were handed a devastating 48-14 loss.

After the game, Wolves Coach Darryl Dickey wanted to let fans know to hang in there, that it the Wolves are regrouping, licking their wounds and putting in the work and effort to bring them a win.

With the coin toss going to the Wolves, they deferred reception to the second half and elected to kick. Wolves kicker Adi Brkic started off the show with a 70-yard kick that started things off at the 38-yard line after the return.

The Ouachita Tigers were pushed back hard by the Wolves Defense, but were able to sneak through for a touchdown off a 51-yard pass that brought things to 7-0 with 13 minutes left in the first quarter.

The Wolves, however, struck back with the leadership of Brandon Behenna, George Summerset and Yusuf Holloway blasting through, making the chains roll down the green and even things up with Joey Harris making the carry across the goal line, taking it to 7-7 with 11 minutes left in the 1st.

A facemask call forced the Wolves to accept horrible field position to defend on the first play of the drive, but a false start by the offense rolled things right back a bit. This, however was not enough to stop the Tigers rushing offense from scoring once more to take it to 14-7 with a little under ten minutes in the first quarter.

The Wolves were determined to tie things up, but despite a bit of pitch and catch early in the drive, they were eventually forced to punt it away.

The Ouachita Baptist Tigers, though, felt the force of the Wolves defense and folded, forced to forget their plans and pushed into punting themselves, allowing the Wolves offense a second chance.

However, a series of unfortunate penalty calls spoiled things, and the Wolves were held back despite a stunning 13-yard rush by Quarterback Brandon Behenna, and were forced to punt; the Tigers held on to their 7-point lead at the end of the first quarter.

The Wolves defense managed to hold strong on the Tigers next drive, but a pass interference call near the end zone made things that much harder and the Tigers managed to make another touchdown to take it to 21-7 with 12:42 left in the first half.

An ugly Ouachita kick gave the Wolves good field position for the next drive, starting them off at the 43-yard line. However, the Wolves could not capitalize and again had to punt, leaving the Tigers on their own 10-yard line to start the drive.

The Wolves defense was unable to stop the Tigers passing game, and 76-yard pass play went in for another Ouachita Baptist touchdown to bring it to 28-7 with just less than 9 minutes left in the first half.

Another Wolves offensive effort was spoiled by a fumble, and the Ouachita Tigers began driving on down the field and the Wolves were not helped by an Unsportsmanlike Conduct penalty call, and the Tigers made a touchdown but botched the PAT to bring the score to 34-7 with 4:10 left in the half.

The Wolves, however, could not recover the kickoff and the Tigers managed to regain control of the ball, and took it in for another touchdown and tacking the score up to 41-7 with 2:44 left in the half.

The Wolves offense did not give up despite the grim situation and forced their way on down the field. With a 4th down and 1 yard play on the 22-yard line, they went for it but could not convert it and Ouachita gained control of the ball and retained it into halftime, leaving the score at 41-7.

The Wolves received the ball in the second half, and began the drive on their 28-yard line, but the Tigers defense stopped them. Brkic attempted a Punt Fake that didn’t hold up to the Tigers’ scrutiny, but he managed to recover and kick it away.

Punting back and forth between the Wolves and the Tigers began after this, but Kyle Padgett broke free of the drudgery and managed to move the ball on down into the end zone, finishing with a 38-yard touchdown pass that kicked up the score to 41-14 with 4:27 left in the 3rd quarter.

The Tigers then found themselves confronted with a reinvigorated Wolves defense that kept them at bay with heavy pressure and forced them to punt.

The Wolves offense pressed on into the 4th quarter, continuing to do their best to make the points they needed to make to narrow the Tigers’ lead. A huge 43-yard rush by Yusuf Holloway cleared the path to big play by Kyle Padgett which brought it to 4th and inches at the cost of an injury.

The Wolves pressed on to make first down, though Kyle Yates also suffered an injury during this drive, and the Tigers continued their assault, forcing a fumble that they recovered. The Tigers ran down the clock and turned over on downs.

The Tigers pressured the Wolves defense further, forcing a fumble which they recovered and ran in for a touchdown to bring the score to 48-14 with a little over five and a half minutes in the game.

The game was brought to a stalemate at this point, with the Tigers running down the clock and the Wolves unable to put any points up on the board.
